Acceptable Use Policy
This policy applies to HelloTap accounts, digital business cards, bio links, public directory entries and connected features. It forms part of the HelloTap Terms of Service.
Last updated:
Use HelloTap to make legitimate connections. Do not use a card, link or directory listing to deceive people, publish information without authority, or expose others to unlawful or harmful activity.
Accurate identity and lawful content
Represent yourself or your organisation accurately. You must have the right to use the names, marks, photographs, text and contact details you publish. Do not impersonate a person or organisation, invent qualifications or licences, or suggest a business is verified or endorsed by HelloTap merely because it appears in the directory.
Prohibited activity
- Fraud, phishing, credential theft, scams, deceptive payment requests or misleading offers.
- Malware, harmful downloads, exploitation of vulnerabilities or attempts to access another account or private information.
- Unlawful content, infringement of copyright or other rights, threats, harassment, discriminatory abuse, or sexual exploitation and abuse material.
- Publishing identification documents, private contact details, sensitive personal information or images without the required rights and lawful basis.
- Unsolicited bulk messaging, unlawful marketing, harvesting contact information or scraping the directory in breach of law or access controls.
- Circumventing plan limits, security controls, payment obligations or a moderation restriction, or deliberately overwhelming the service.
Links, QR codes and integrations
You are responsible for the destination of links and the integrations you configure. Do not hide an unsafe or deceptive destination behind a QR code, NFC link, redirect, shortened address or custom domain. Any analytics, marketing tags, embeds or collection forms you add must meet applicable transparency, consent and data-protection requirements.
Public directory conduct
A listing must describe the actual business and provide information you are authorised to publish. Do not create misleading duplicate listings or manipulate visibility. Directory availability is not a guarantee of customers, search ranking or business legitimacy. Any promotional placement must comply with its order and applicable advertising rules.
Reporting illegal or harmful material
Send reports to [email protected] with the exact HelloTap URL, a description of the concern, relevant evidence and a way to contact you. Rights holders should identify the protected work or right and explain their authority to report. Do not include unnecessary sensitive information. If there is an immediate threat to safety, contact the appropriate emergency service as well as notifying us.
How reports and restrictions are handled
We assess reports and may request more information, contact the account holder, restrict access, remove content or preserve relevant records where justified. Where practical and lawful, the affected account holder will receive a reason and an opportunity to respond. Immediate restriction may be necessary to address fraud, serious risk or a legal duty.
Review of a decision
If your account or content has been restricted and you believe the decision is wrong, reply to the notice or contact [email protected] identifying the page and explaining why it should be reviewed. Do not evade a restriction by creating another account. A review does not prevent an authority from exercising its lawful powers.
